We are thrilled to announce the release of the full‑colour catalogue for Proximities, the landmark three‑person exhibition that took place at PFA–Kensington from September 30 through December 21, 2023, featuring Olivier Mosset, Michael Scott, and Blair Thurman. This beautifully produced volume captures the distinct yet resonant visual languages developed by these artists over decades—rooted in shared histories, formal rigor, and the power of abstraction.
A centerpiece of the publication is the richly engaging conversation between the three artists and esteemed critic and curator Molly Warnock, currently Director of the Clyfford Still Catalogue Raisonné Project. Their exchange offers a thoughtful exploration of each artist’s approach to surface, scale, pattern, and the physical experience of painting—much like the exhibition itself, which invited viewers into subtle optical and tactile dialogue.
Illustrated with vivid installation views and intimate detail shots, the catalogue draws attention to the subtle optical tensions and material intricacies that defined the immersive experience of Proximities. Whether revisiting the exhibition or discovering it for the first time, this publication provides an insightful and authoritative lens into the dynamic proximities—and productive tensions—among these three influential contemporary painters.
